What does it feel like to be a part of a massively successful film like ‘Suryavanshi’?
I am beyond words, and thankful! I am very happy that I am a part of ‘Suryavanshi’. The role I was shortlisted for was slipping out of my hands and after six months of playing the role of Cop and constant contact with the film crew, there was no chance of getting it back.
When I lost the chance to film, honestly it upset me but I believe what is for you will always come back; That’s how I got this movie. I later got a call for another role of police and he accepted. Although the role of ATS Malvika Gupta was limited, but I think it was just for me.
He kept asking me if I could do justice to a newcomer to Bollywood. Then came my parents and friends who explained to me that this was all part of my career learning process. I’m so glad everyone liked my little scene; All I can say is that I’m getting some recognition. ‘Suryavanshi’ is not just a film but it will always be a feeling for me.
What was the response to your Bollywood debut?
I have received many blessings from everyone; It scared me because I have no godfather in the industry. I will always be grateful to the ‘Suryavanshi’ team, Rohit Shetty And Akshay Kumar. Each of them is as supportive as my character, ATS Malvika Gupta came up with no assurance of dialogues.
Describe working with Rohit Shetty …
Rohit Sir knows exactly which character is right for him and how to make the film interesting. The name ‘Hit Machine’ is perfect for him. I had a little conversation with him but when it came to work I saw him as a quiet but strict person. For some reason, during my early shooting days, I was scared of them. But he is just as fun-loving.
What about your co-stars Akshay and Katrina?
My first meeting with Akshay Kumar was very interesting; I wanted to shoot my first scene with him. I remember my introduction while we were talking, and then we went straight to the scene. He improvised the scene and told me to share the screen space and follow his instructions. So, the whole scene you see in the film, the credit goes to Akshay.
While I didn’t share screen space with Katrina, there was a shot where we had a conversation. She is very positive and sweet … like an angel. All I can say is that I really like her aura. We discussed its brand and much more.
