Digital Desk, New Delhi The Jindal Institute of Behavioral Sciences (JIBS) in association with the Community Psychology Association of India (CPAI) organized the first International Conference on Community Psychology (ICCP) at OP Jindal Global University. The three-day conference was aimed at exploring contemporary topics in the broader field of community psychology.

The three-day conference brought together renowned professors, experts, psychologists and academics from various fields to explore contemporary topics in the broader field of community psychology. Dr. Jindal, Principal Director, Institute of Behavioral Sciences (JIBS) Sanjeev p. Sahni said the aim of the conference was to exemplify the scope of research in community psychology by integrating different disciplines of interest.

Dr. “Community psychologists can play an important role in the welfare of individuals and communities,” Sahni said. It is therefore important to look at the cultural, economic, social, political and environmental factors that shape and influence the psychological aspects of individuals and communities. In this conference, our goal is to focus on that. During the conference, 11 panel discussions and seven paper presentations highlight both theories of relevance and practical aspects in many related fields such as economics, sociology, ecology and feminist psychology.

Psychology educator Dr. Ravi Gunthe, former Prof. JN Vyas University, Jodhpur, Prof. AVS Madanavat, Former Professor of Psychology, Rajasthan University, Jaipur, Prof. (Dr.) Ramji Lal, General Secretary, Community Psychology Association of India and Prof. (Dr.) N.K. Saxena, Patron, Community Psychology Association of India spoke on various aspects of community psychology during various sessions of the conference.

The conference was organized as part of a series of educational initiatives launched by JIBC to promote multi-discipline and research in psychology and allied fields. JIBS is a value-based research institute of OP Jindal Global University and is a member of the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS), which specializes in Mental Health, Mapping, Neuroscience, Neurodiction Science, Psychology, Management Science. Focuses on applied and experimental research in the fields of forensic studies, social psychology and criminal behavior.
