Smartphone company Oppo is rapidly expanding its portfolio. Now the company is also entering the foldable smartphone segment, which will directly challenge companies like Samsung-Motorola-Huawei, whose foldable phones are already making a splash in the market. If you are also planning a foldable phone, it would be better to wait a bit, as Oppo may launch its first foldable smartphone next month. Although the company has not given any information about the upcoming smartphone, Tipster Digital Chat Station recently shared some interesting posts about the device on the Chinese social media site Weibo.

The first post shared by Tipster includes a picture of the long-forgotten Oppo N3, which was allegedly captured by a mysterious device called the Oppo Find N5G.

The phone also has a small display
Another post mentioned that the Oppo Find N 5G will come with a foldable display and will also have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor for taking selfies. The post also mentions a secondary display on the back of Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Ultra, which captures images from the main camera. Thus, there are indications that the Oppo Find N 5G may include its own small display.

Indicates a patented popup camera
It is said that Oppo’s first foldable smartphone will have an inward folding display similar to the Galaxy Z Fold / Flip series. Taking a look at the foldable device patent recently filed by Oppo, it will be interesting to see what the company has to offer. The patent covers things like a pop-up camera, as well as a weird clamshell with an external screen and camera bar.

What’s special about Oppo’s foldable phone (potential)
According to a separate report, Oppo’s first foldable display smartphone will have a 7.8 by 8-inch OLED display with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset attached to an Adreno 660 GPU. Memory configuration is not detailed yet. The device will have a 50-megapixel primary camera on the back and a 32-megapixel selfie snapper on the front. Possibly a side-mounted fingerprint reader. All this will be supported by a 4500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.
