The Kerala government will now bear the full cost of training students who pass the entrance exam at the Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy, a government academy training for commercial pilot license (CPL). As a result, under the new directive, the state government will pay a full fee of about Rs 25 lakh for each student.

He said this to Minister of State for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes K Radhakrishnan after meeting two girls and three boys from the Scheduled Caste community who got admission in the academy this year. Every student from the SC / ST community will be able to study for free. This will benefit the new generation of the community, the minister said. In addition, she mentored five successful students to become role models for their community.

Scholarships were previously limited to one or two cadets and will now be extended to all members of the SC / ST community. The five students who got admission include Sharanya of Wayanad, Sankirtan of Kannur, Adityan of Alappuzha, Vishnu Prasad of Kozhikode and Rahul of Thiruvananthapuram.
