WhatsApp is now not only a messaging app but it is also making digital payments, anyone can verify their account and make payments on it, this is why the Verification of Your Account feature is coming to make this app more secure. According to the beta version, users will have to provide their official ID to verify the WhatsApp account. For this, users can provide any ID for identification. However, no announcement has been made about the ID from WhatsApp yet. The WhatsApp change in the beta version has spotted a big change. It is not clear whether this is for India or any other country.
Users do not have to provide their identities for other payment apps PhonePe and Google Pay. Some apps like Paytm and MobiKwik, users are asked to do their own KYC. In Brazil, users do not need to verify payments using WhatsApp Pay for WhatsApp Pay.
According to the messaging app, using WhatsApp Payments will make it easier for people to send money to their contacts or make payments through WhatsApp Pay. WhatsApp has also noted that the camera icon in Composer now allows users to scan QR codes to make payments at more than 20 million stores in India. The verification feature will reduce the problem of fraud in WhatsApp payments. According to WhatsApp, your account will be secured. WhatsApp Pay can give advance notice in case of any problem.
